How we're paid
ReverseGuide is free to use. Here's how we cover our costs, in plain language.
Marketing fees
We're paid a marketing fee by the mortgage brokerage we work with, to promote its services. When you ask to be matched, we send your details to one licensed mortgage agent at that brokerage. This fee doesn't change the rate or fees you pay, and you're never under any obligation to go ahead.
Who we work with
We refer people to licensed mortgage agents and brokerages that work with Canada's reverse mortgage lenders. We don't accept payment from lenders to rank or describe their products in a particular way.
What we're not
ReverseGuide isn't a lender or a mortgage brokerage, and we don't arrange or negotiate mortgages. Any mortgage advice comes from the licensed agent you're matched with.
Our content
Our guides and calculators are for general education. They aren't financial, legal or tax advice, and calculator results are estimates. Before taking out a reverse mortgage, get independent legal advice. Lenders require it.
